A Japanese form of bodywork in which the fingers and thumbs are used to stimulate acupuncture points along energetic pathways of the body known as meridians. A continuous, rhythmic sequence of compression and kneading is also applied to the muscle borders of these meridians. And throughout each session the limbs and torso are gently manipulated into passive stretches similar to Yoga postures. Clients often feel a renewed sense of energy, pain relief, and greater flexibility. Loose, comfortable clothing is worn during the session.
